The Obamanation Goes Gaga Over .09%

The news that AIG is planning to shell out $165 Million in “bonuses” is driving both sides of the isle in to a feeding frenzy.  The Prez is demanding the bonuses be stopped by any means necessary.  Republicans and Democrats both are threating legal (and even bodily harm) to the AIG employees who refuse to give up the extra cash.  But I just have one question – “what’s the big friggen deal?”

Take a look at the numbers – $165 Million.  Yes that’s a big number, but its less than one tenth of one percent (.09%) of the overall bailout loan us taxpayers invested ($173 Billion).   Given The Prez’s penchant for spending money, and Congress’ exuberence for earmarks, which total a heck of a lot more than the “meare pittance” given AIG – shouldn’t the American taxpayer be more upset with the government?

Why Obama’s Economics Won’t Work

Is the future of the United States already sealed?  You decide.   Watch these two in sequence.  Remember Barney “the Dinosaur” Frank is in a policy making position and the Kato institute is a non-partisan outsider group.

Quotes of the Day:

koolaid-large I never thought this day would ever happen! I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s going to help me.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.

– Gerald R. Ford

Thanks, America – You Just Cost Me $223 to $1601 a Year…

200022054-002 It’s a little late, but I found this article on WalletPop that tries to summarize what a McCain or Obama Presidency could mean to your taxes.  And while for the Middle Class, both candidates’ tax plans actually show a decrease in income taxes, the results of last night’s election could have made our bottom line a bit better.

A Toaster in Every Pot?

image According to Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate, Joe Biden, what the Middle Class desperately need are toasters.  Good ol’ Jo-Jo made this revelation on NBC’s Today Show (click on  “Read the rest…” to view the video footage).

Now, I must admit, that my toaster is looking sad these days.  I’ve had it for 4 years.  It’s one of those toaster-oven combos, but does neither function well.  So I’m gonna vote for Obama come this November, and I urge all toaster-deficient Middle Class voters to cast their ballot for the Obama-Biden ticket.

The Vanity Fair Candidate

Source: Vanity Fair July, 2007 Issue

There’s evidence that Barack Obama’s overseas tour may be backfiring.  As Obama and his posse of image makers in the press have been performing photo ops with world leaders in the global hot spots in an effort to bolster his “foreign policy credentials” his poll numbers are slipping.  The Rasmussen daily tracking poll is showing McCain has closed to a tie with Obama. The race has tightened to a 46% to 46% tie despite McCain’s anemic campaign effort. Similarly the Gallup poll is showing Obama’s lead down to 3% where he has held a steady lead prior to his trip.

An Obama-nation

The MS13 gang is one of the deadliest gangs in the US and is growing around the world.  Founded in the illegal immigrant sanctuary city of Los Angeles the Hispanic gang’s membership has grown almost unchecked as it has spread to other major cities in the US and other countries.  In recent years ICE has gotten  involved but not nearly at the level required to suppress its spread.  Why are violent gangs such as MS13  not classified as terrorist organizations?

Its in part due to an unwillingness to address the growing illegal immigration issue.   Don’t expect the weak response from the federal, state and liberal city governments to end soon.  Last week presidential hopeful Barack Obama raised eyebrows and irritation from many middle class Americans hard hit by illegal immigration as  he spoke at the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).   In a sign that Obama doesn’t see the flood of immigrants slowing he stated that US children should learn to speak Spanish – even though his campaign signs were all written in English at the LULAC event.
